Bucket Bag WIP

I'm working on a bucket bag.

This one is the third attempt, one of my tests. It seams that I need more tests.
It's roomy (16 1/2" W x 14 1/2 H x 10" D), light and stiff.
I remembered Geta wrote an Interfacing Guide for Bags. I had to adapt to what I had in the closet: I used woven fusible interface and a regular polyester batting. I added a non woven fusible interfacing to the lining and I'm quite satisfied with the bag structure.

The oval bottom is quite sturdy.
I tried to find a discrete place for a zippered exterior pocket. On the next test-bag I will add a second one.

Playing a little with the bag open I placed magnetic snaps on its sides. I found this simple way to get a changeable shape.

I mixed up some working stages, that's why my bag is lucking in accuracy. But it's OK, it's only a test-bag.

Let's back to tests!
Have a beautiful week, my dears!

♥ Thank you! ♥

Some technical problems with my computer blocked me to write this post earlier. I try to write it now even they were not removed yet. I hope I will make it.

A lovely springy pillow made using her favorite color by Geta Grama with my Country Home block pattern

Last week the very talented quilt designer Geta Grama wrote a post about me and Dora Cary, a Romanian-born quilter living now in the USA. On this occasion, I have known Dora and her work. What a creative lady! Her modern quilts keep such a fine balance between the simple geometrical forms and dimensions. Look at them here! I know you will like Dora's patterns.

Here's a vibrant quilt made by  Geta Grama with Dora's Stripe Play pattern

As a response to Geta's post, I have received so many warm encouraging messages! They went to my heart and nourished my soul.
I am grateful to you all, for your time spent to do this and for buying with such enthusiasm my pattern! I hope you will enjoy it!

I wish you to have a Quilting Guardian Angel like I have and good friends like mines with whom to share your passion!

Have a beautiful day, my dears!
I hope I will give you only good reasons to come back here.

...and on...

In the last post I said I don't know how will turn out my gift-to be.
Well, I didn't manage to bound things together. They didn't match up.Time spent for nothing.
Pure and simple.

But  don't forget: today is International Women's Day (8 March), a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
Let's party, then!
Have a beautiful weekend, my dears!

Moving on

A new gift on my work table. No, not for me. I'm making it for someone born in...February. Well, that's it! I'm late. And above that not sure how this will turn out.
For now sneak a peek:

Sweet dreams

The baby quilt is ready to go to its little boy.
It will accompany him several years, as it measures 36 "x 43".

The top is made from Kona cotton, Owl Wonderful by Olivia Audi and Tiles from Michael Miller. I used cotton batting and fleece for the back.
As usual, a big question was: How I will quilt it? I chose this:

A last minute decision was to round up only two corners just to make the edge to be part in the quilting design.

To brighten its look I added a striped binding, choosing some of the top colors.

I'm sure you understand me I can't wait to see how it will be received by its new family, as it will be a surprise.

Let's go now to the next project!

Have a beautiful day my dears!

I am linking to Finish it up Friday!
and to Linky Tuesday.
