Something new to sew - Quilted Pillow Cover pattern release

Do you like applique?
I do. I always did.
It was just a matter of time to design my own pattern.
And here it is:

It's so easy to make, so quick to complete!

And sooo beeeautiful, isn't it?

The pieces are simple and symmetrical. Easy to cut, easy to fuse, easy to stitch down.

I know, it sounds like a shameless self-promotion, but actually, these are the grounds that had driven to writing the pattern.

You need only a few hours of work (looking more like a child's play), two fat quarters and a few fabric scraps and strips.

You might use this design also for a cute table topper or even for a lovely quilt.
One Happy Flowers pillow, table topper or wall quilt and you will feel like Spring and Summer are forever in your home.

I thought the pattern as a simple and friendly guide, providing
- a lot of pictures
- instructions for fusing, stitching, piecing, washing and for assembling the pillow cover
- all the necessary templates
- suggestions for layout variation

A Garden Table in a Hot Summer Day

Last weekend we managed to spend a few days in our country garden.
It was almost the same hot as in The Big City, but from evening to the morning the temperatures made us to recall how to use a blanket ;)
Bliss....
And I remember how wonderful is the night sleep! At home I have only pieces of it....
So, the joy of life gave me energy to put the shelf with paint tins in order. I mean to verify what is still good and what's not.
Because all of them were usable I spent an afternoon painting my new garden table. Well, it's a new table made from old reused wood, by my very talented neighbor.

I forgot to made a before photo.
After a primer coat, I gave it a chocolate-brown coat and some red accents.

I made a flower and a butterfly cardboard stencils and I started to use them here and there, all over my chocolate table.

...Have I told you it was a hot day?...

I can't wait to have my coffee mug on it!

Sail Away !

Maybe because of those hot days, I'm in love more and more with these colors!
I long for the sea....and I can't go to see HER. Please don't ask why.

For V., who is preparing for a trip to Greece (in August), I am continuing making all kind of staff for the sunny days on the beach.
This time I made him a backpack.
It has enough space for the quilt I made already for him and all the other necessary things for a day on the beach.

I admit that I like those eyelets for the cord, but I didn't like at all the process of putting them in place.I had big problems aligning the hols. And of course, they don't.

But my son loves me and he don't care.

I hope ;)....

....And you must never look a gift horse in the mouth, right?

RIGHT!

So, all those of you, who will be by the SEA this summer, please, take an extra little moment to listen the waves and to smell the salty air, for me!

Happy June

Si iata-ne in plina vara!
Calendaristic, nu s-ar spune, stiu. Suntem abia la inceputul ei. Cand copiii iau vacanta mare si cand culorile florilor si verdele pomilor sunt vii, pline, stralucitoare. Dar zilele si chiar noptile lui iunie asta sunt asa de fierbinti, ca imi dau sentimentul de vara in toi.
Cu ventilatorul pornit aproape tot timpul, incerc sa leg idei la adapostul draperiilor ce-si desfasoara pavaza fina in calea luminii dogoritoare de afara.
Unele s-au concretizat in mici cadouri utile, care sa aiba si ele rol de pavaza pentru indispensabilele jucarii moderne.

Noroc ca am avut la indemana materiale cumparate mai demult de la Csilla, cu imprimeuri aproape de sufletul celor doi.

Si cum e bine sa alternezi activitatile ca sa ai mai mult spor, am dat o fuga si la tara, pentru ca, dupa atata ploaie era clar ca gradinii ii e dor de noi.

Si chiar asa a fost. Cele trei saptamani scurse de la precedenta vizita au dat ragaz ierbii sa creasca pana aproape de nivelul "jungla" si glicinei sa-si consume toata energia cu cataratul in parul vecin, in loc sa faca si ea niste flori albastre. Da, albastre, nu mov.
Dar mai ales, era pacat sa pierd prima inflorire a trandafirilor din sezonul asta.
Desi au fost destule flori semideschise sau chiar nedeschise, putrezite pe tulpini din cauza ploilor, tot au mai ramas destule de care sa ne bucuram. Am reusit sa prind cateva din momentele lor de glorie.
