Urban Folk Mood Quilt - 2 - playing with the winter colors
I'm polishing the Urban Folk Mood quilt pattern.
In this version, I wanted to give equal chances to be seen to the two patchwork units of the top and bottom bands. The way to do this was using for both units vivid and pastel colors/shades, but in their succession, I wanted to get out of the symmetry of the pieced blocks geometry.
I kept the quilting design (simulating the weaving threads) as in the first version because I want the quilt layout to stay in a manner near to my inspiration source: a traditional handcrafted rug.
This is a little quilt, for a decorative pillow or a wall quilt.
The next version will be a baby quilt and will have a few prints.
Have a beautiful week, my friends!
I'm linking to Finish it up Friday!

My Garden May Palettes
We just returned from a lovely trip to our country home. We had such a great time.
Although the first days where a bit grey and rainy, we had a wonderful time.
Back home, I spent some time on the website play-crafts.com to compose the color palette of a few photos taken these days in my garden.
I really love this site.
A very useful application I found here is Palette Builder - you upload your photo and instantly you have its palette.
You can add, change or delete colors from the palette but the best thing is on the right side of your photo: the application makes 3 matching lists of your color palette: one for Kona Cottons, one for Hex Values and one for Aurifil Threads. You can save the photos with their palettes and/or share them. Brilliant!
No registration, passwords or things like these. It's simple and fast.
I find it very useful and fun.
From now on the chain of My Quilting Hopes it's sooo short:
photo - palette - money - money - money.... - Kona Cotton and/or Aurifil Threads order
:)
In the meantime I saved one of my garden May Palettes with its three matching lists, for my wishlist :
I hope you will find this online tool helpful, too.
Have a beautiful day!
P.S. This isn't a payed post. I really think this people made a very useful job.

Changing the colors / Schimband culorile
I had only few fabrics from the natural range beige-brown colors.
Nevertheless I managed to sew two cushions.

Niste culori..../ Some colors...

A Garden Table in a Hot Summer Day
Last weekend we managed to spend a few days in our country garden.
It was almost the same hot as in The Big City, but from evening to the morning the temperatures made us to recall how to use a blanket ;)
Bliss....
And I remember how wonderful is the night sleep! At home I have only pieces of it....
So, the joy of life gave me energy to put the shelf with paint tins in order. I mean to verify what is still good and what's not.
Because all of them were usable I spent an afternoon painting my new garden table. Well, it's a new table made from old reused wood, by my very talented neighbor.
I forgot to made a before photo.
After a primer coat, I gave it a chocolate-brown coat and some red accents.
I made a flower and a butterfly cardboard stencils and I started to use them here and there, all over my chocolate table.

Natural
Pana una-alta, ma simt bine in cromatica asta:

De ce?
Priviti aici:
