The Splendid Sampler - Block 2 - Wings

The Splendid Sampler is a Sew Along project of Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson.
I managed to sew Block 2 - Wings by Jane Davidson.

I used denim and quilting fabric, as for the first block.
It went not quit well. I have not followed carefully the instructions on how to deal with small pieces from Joan Ford's site and got a seam - allowances - mess and a lot of bulk.
I will make another one, but for the time being this is my Block 2:
