Santa Claus is coooomiiiiing to toooown!

I know, I know, we are just a day away from  February, but I just received a little parcel and our poor-almost-frozen-Postman looked like Santa in front of my door!
What brought me Mr. Postman-Santa?
This:

A book. A special book.
Why it is special?
Because it can be considered  "The who's who of quilting today": Rachel May gathered in it more than 70 of the most talented quilt artists to emphasize the styles of modern quilting and to encourage even those who have never sewn a stitch before, to give it a go.
Take a look at the table of contents of the book. A lot of inspiration!

In chapter 7, "Coming full circle" the green hand is pointing you a name. Do you see it? ...page 192...
Here's what is it about on page 192:

Well done, Geta! Congratulations! A well deserved place!

I only browsed the book. I  will read it leisurely tonight. The cake of my day!
Before I go, I'll show you a few pages more, just to increase your appetite too:

Red & White Quilts - my favorites!

Back to work now!
Have a beautiful day, my dears!

Almost done! / Aproape gata!

Working, working, working.

The pattern for this block is almost done. It is written in English. I need a helping hand from a native English speaker quilter to verify the text.
Is someone willing to do this?
I look forward to your emails!
Thank you in advance!

Have a beautiful day!

Old things - New things / Lucruri vechi - Lucruri noi

New year is not just about new projects, but for finishing old ones too, said somebody these days.
I'm totally agree.
I am enjoying this one:

It looked like this

Its story begins here.
Now the setting is totally different. One of my quilting friends encouraged me to change it.

I decided to do so, even the pattern I made as a Courthouse Steps patchwork block was ready to go out in the Quilting World.
If it is possible to be done better, why not, I said to myself.
And I am writing a new pattern for this block.
I hope it will be attractive for the quilters and I hope too I will finish it soon.
My new fresh kona fabrics are waiting on my table.

Thank you fabrix.ro for your fast delivery!
One color - one Country Home Block.

To be continued...

Have a beautiful week!

Christmas on the horizon / Craciunul la orizont

I wanted to see how is it to use for quilting the twin needle (double needle).
The pretext was a quick table runner for the upcoming holiday.

The tests are continuing but for now I can tell you that for quilting too, the twin needle may be used for straight stitches, zig-zag and some decorative stitches.

How I combined the stitching techniques for quilting the Christmas table runner

A wile ago I used it also with the free-motion foot, but I don't have photos. These days I will give it another try quilting curves and using different colors threads and I will tale you how it worked.

One thing is very important: when you chose the quilting design you must be aware that when stitching with twin needle you can't sew around a corner with the needle down. You must lift up both the needle and the machine foot, arrange the fabric trying not to pull the thread and then continue on.

That's all for now.

Have a beautiful day!
