Spring Hope - a little table mat

This little table mat - 11 1/2 " x 16 " - is a quick project.

Theoretically. Practically, from different reasons, I had to interrupt my work so many times that instead one day it took me three days to finish it. And on top of all: after finishing sewing the binding I realized it uglified the quilt. I tried to convince myself that is only a fleeting feeling because I hate to reap out the stitches. In vain. Finally, I did it.

I chose another fabric, made another binding and stitch it onto the quilt.
I like how this second binding is lying like a narrow quilt frame.

Now let's wait for the bees!
After removing my dried winter flowers, I'm sure they will come!

The Splendid Sampler - Block 2 - Wings

The Splendid Sampler is a Sew Along project of Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson.
I managed to sew Block 2 - Wings by Jane Davidson.

I used denim and quilting fabric, as for the first block.
It went not quit well. I have not followed carefully the instructions on how to deal with small pieces from Joan Ford's site and got a seam - allowances - mess and a lot of bulk.
I will make another one, but for the time being this is my Block 2:

Urban Folk quilt - gift idea for a man

 A few things to polish and verify for the Urban Folk quilt:

Here is another test. A pillow cover. I showed you just a little of it some time ago.

I gave it already as gift to a very special man. Actually I selected the fabrics having him in my mind.
In a nut shell: upcycled denim, scraps, strings, hand dyed fabric, quilting fabrics.

About the quilting style: I like these waving and straight lines flowing over the simple patchwork. For the time being I don't see an elaborate quilting design for it. Who knows what I will think about this in the future? We will see.
Creating is a never ending story, isn't it?
